Dr. John MacArthur said, "The family was God’s first earthly institution. Before there was a government, and long before God instituted the church, He ordained marriage and the family as the basic building block of society. The destruction of the family we are witnessing today is, I believe, a harbinger of the ultimate collapse of our entire society."
The statement was made several years ago, but I think we are seeing it prove itself more and more true every day. One of the jobs of the church is to help families know what God's plan is and what His principles are for strong families and the raising of godly children. In this second week of my series, "Changing the World from Home, I want to cover some of the basics of godly parenting and I want to remind everyone of their part in seeing families strengthened and God's name be glorified and honored in our world.
