Daughters of the King Ballet presents:
The First Christmas
The true story of the first Christmas begins with a breathtaking moment: an angel appears to Mary and tells her that she will give birth to a baby boy, the long-awaited Messiah, Jesus. On the night He is born, angels fill the sky above Bethlehem, announcing the good news to a group of startled shepherds and telling them exactly where to find the newborn Savor. The shepherds rush to see Him for themselves, and after encountering the Messiah, they hurry out to spread the news to everyone they can.
At that same time, a brilliant new star rises in the sky to mark Jesus’s birth. Wise men notice this extraordinary sign and set out on a journey to find the promised King. Their travels first lead them to Jerusalem, to the palace, where they naturally expect a king to be, before they learn that the child they seek is actually in Bethlehem. When they finally arrive there, they offer Jesus precious gifts and bow down in worship. Christmas is the day we celebrate this miraculous beginning, the birth of Jesus, and praise Him for coming to earth as a baby to save us from our sins.
