While we know that the Nutcracker is a fictional fairytale, the battle between good and evil is very real.  The good news is that the end has already been determined, because Jesus conquered the enemy when He died on the cross to pay the price for our sin, and then came back to …

Foundations of Our Faith Series

The Christian faith is built on the teachings of the Scriptures, God’s very words given to us in written form.  The religious landscape is full of competing beliefs and world views, many of which hold little resemblance to the clear teachings of Scripture, so it is easy for a person to become confused or led astray by false teachings about God.  This series is a survey of the major doctrines of the faith in everyday language.   It reflects orthodox Christian doctrine built squarely on the Scriptures.  Each sermon generally covers one area of theology and includes several supporting Scripture references.  …

Responding Well to Correction – Continued

Can you remember the last time someone corrected you?  How did you feel about that?  Were you glad or sad or angry?  Correction is something we all need at times, some more than others, but we are often resistant.  To accept correction means we are admitting we were wrong.  Admitting we were wrong means admitting we are not perfect and that someone knew something we didn’t or they discovered something we hoped would remain hidden. Ouch. Our prideful natures do not like that.  But do we really want to go through life being wrong?  Does it really help us if …

Easter Sunday Service

A time of music, Scripture, and hope as we look at the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We join the disciples in their despair Saturday night and Sunday morning and see the transformation that was produced when Christ rose from the dead, giving them much more to live for, much more to hope in.  God wants to do the same for you!
