Standing Strong in the Lord – Part 2

At the time Paul was writing the letter to the Ephesian church, he was a prisoner of Rome.  Jewish leaders that hated him and  the Gospel that he preached, had brought false accusations against him.  He had a strong case for his innocence, but had appealed to see Caesar in Rome because political pressures in the Judean region were preventing him from getting a fair trial.  This resulted in a lot of waiting and a lot of time in jail or under house arrest.  Throughout this difficulty he came to know what it meant to stand strong in the Lord, …

Standing Strong in the Lord

What are you doing with your life that Satan would love to stop?  What are you doing that Satan would love to see you keep doing?  Those are two big battlefields in your life: the things that you know you should do for God and the things you know that God wants you to give up.  Two weeks ago we looked at the reality of spiritual warfare and the danger of thinking we are able to handle it ourselves.  This week we want to continue that study, looking at how we can be successful in it.  We truly live in …

Special Guest – Cliff Bourne

A special guest speaker, Cliff Bourne, shared how the creation clearly declares a Creator. We accept the Genesis account of creation and believe that man came by direct creation of God and not by evolution. We understand the Bible to clearly teach that the creation of the world took place in six literal, consecutive, 24 hour days, and that God rested on the seventh day (Genesis. 1 and 2; Exodus 20:11, 31:17; Colossians. 1:16-17; John 1:3).

The Delusion of Safety and Self-Sufficiency

There are two things we tend to believe that are completely untrue in our walk with God.  The first is that we are sufficient in ourselves to live the Christian life and obey all the commands God has given us.  The second in that things will by nature work towards our success as believers if we don’t mess them up.  Both of these beliefs are wrong, they are a delusion. All through Scripture God calls on us to look to Him for strength, to “Abide in the vine” which refers to being to Him through prayer and His Word.  Scripture …

What Does God Say About Work? Part 2

This week we want to continue our study on work.  Last week we looked at some of the good that comes from work that you may not have thought of before, this week we will take what we started and build on it, looking at the words God gave us through the Apostle Paul.  I think it will give you a completely new perspective on your job and will help you as you get ready to start this new work week whether at home or at a job site. I hope you will join in! You can click the video …

What Does God Say About Work?

What do you think about work? Is it just a means to an end; a way to provide what you need and want?  Is it a blessing or a curse?  Does it define you? In this sermon series we will be taking a look at what God says about it and see how the common views on work match up to His. We will explore the right attitude to have towards work, what role it should play in our life, and whether or not God even cares about the job we do.  While this study will be anchored in our …

Changing the World from Home Part 2

Dr. John MacArthur said, “The family was God’s first earthly institution. Before there was a government, and long before God instituted the church, He ordained marriage and the family as the basic building block of society. The destruction of the family we are witnessing today is, I believe, a harbinger of the ultimate collapse of our entire society.” The statement was made several years ago, but I think we are seeing it prove itself more and more true every day.  One of the jobs of the church is to help families know what God’s plan is and what His principles …

God is in control

Join in this week as Dr. Henry Johnson shares with us from Psalm 97 and encourages us in this day when encouragement is hard to find.  Dr. Johnson will point us to the sufficiency of God and His Word for the problems we face.  Come be encouraged and find a new perspective to take into your week.  You will also be blessed by the opportunity to sing praises to God together, pray, and read His Word.  We hope you will join in, either at the church building or right here online.

Changing the World From Home Part 1

I am excited about sharing from God’s Word regarding how we can change the world from home (and I’m not talking about working from home!). In addition to singing and being blessed with some special music, I want to share with you from God’s Word some critical teachings for children and parents.  I also want to point out that this is not just for families with young children.  You see, as Christians, we are all children of God and the principles apply to us also!  Also, the more that we all understand the importance of following God’s guidance for families, …
