Foundations of Our Faith: The Doctrine of the Church

There are so many churches and denominations, so many styles, so many arguments. What is the church? Does the Bible tell us? Or is it all just up for debate? The Bible has much to say about the church and I recently preached a sermon series on Church membership which included many important teachings straight from God’s Word on the church. You can access the first one here, the others follow. In this message on the church, I want to take a look at the basics of what defines the church, both the universal church and the local church.  We will …

Easter Sunday

Come join us as we Celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Both in our Sunrise service at 6 AM and our Morning Worship at 10:45, we will go back in time to that history-changing morning at the tomb. We will look at the various players in the drama of the ages as Jesus shatters the bondage of sin and death and gives us hope. Come reflect on how Jesus forever changed the lives of not only those there that day, but ours as well, and so many others. The Sunrise Service is in person only, but …

Foundations of our Faith – The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit Part 2

One of the most misunderstood and debate doctrines of our faith is the Holy Spirit.  In this second message on Him, we will continue to look at the clear teachings of Scripture regarding the Holy Spirit, who He is, and what He does.  We will spend some focused time on His work in the life of believers specifically and what we have been commanded regarding Him.  I hope you will join us for this important study

The Wonder of Our Adoption

Adoption. It is a beautiful thing. So many children who would have gone through life neglected and lonely have found loving, nurturing families through adoption. Did you know that if you have put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have been adopted into the family of God? You are a little sibling of Jesus! Join me in Ephesians one this morning as we look at the wonder of our adoption as sons into the family of God. May He grant us the ability to comprehend and appreciate this incomprehensible truth.

Foundations of Our Faith – the Doctrine of Salvation Part 2

As we continue the study of God’s plan of redemption for us, we will start with the bad news – our condition.  We will look at why we needed Jesus to die for us and what is involved in His gracious provision.  I will lay out the theology of our redemption in simple terms helping us all to grasp a little better the rich truths found in Isaiah 6 and 53, Romans 3, 5,6 and 8.  I hope you will join in this study of God’s beautiful gift of Redemption.

Foundations of Our Faith: The doctrine of Salvation

Good Soil published a book called “The Story of Hope” and in it we read this:  “[The Bible] contains more than 500 stories involving nearly 3,000 charters.  Yet beautifully interwoven from cover to cover through all the Bible’s various stories is one Big Story . . .The Story of Hope – the story that unveils God’s unique provision in His plan to bring eternal hope to people of all times and places.”  In this message, continuing the Foundations of Faith series, I want to give an overview of the Doctrine of Salvation, the message of the Gospel, God’s redemption story …

Committing to the Lifestyle God Intended

In John Lenin’s misguided humanistic song “Imagine”, he has on one level, a good intention. He wants to see a world that lives in peace and harmony. In his mind, the barrier to that is religion, and he essentially blames religion for the lack of peace and the root of all war and the fallout of war. The song wants a good thing, but it totally misses the real pathway to that ; following God’s plan.  This song is a vivid embodiment of Satan’s lie. What we describe in the last part of our church covenant is living the ethic …

Covenanting Together as God’s Family Part 2

Recently, our church adopted a new Church Covenant. This update is designed to be more accessible to contemporary readers and seeks to do a better job emphasizes the biblical role and function of the local church and its members. It represents our commitment to follow Jesus as the community He created. Sadly, organizational documents of the church are often looked at like those lengthy “Terms of Service” documents you digitally sign to install an app on your phone.  They are viewed as nothing more than a bunch of legalese that nobody reads, and everyone assumes, have little significance.   Membership in …

Aaron’s Palm Ministry

We welcome Henry Johnson of Aaron’s Palm, a ministry that brings biblical hope and healing to God’s leaders around the world.  Henry not only provides biblical training and counsel to churches and church leaders here in the US but also in restricted nations where policies, poverty, and paganism challenge church leaders’ access to biblical training and support. You will not want to miss Dr. Johnson’s solidly biblical and practical teaching so set aside some time now to join the service.
