Christians have sometimes been known primarily for what they are against. Indeed, there are many places in Scripture where we are told to live counter-culturally, like in Colossians 3:5-11. What we are against, however, is only part of the story. Just like when you remodel a home, you get rid of the old for the sole purpose of replacing it with something new. The new is what becomes prominent, what your house is known for. So it is with our lives; we should be showcases of God’s renewing work of grace. That’s what this message from Colossians 3:12-17 is about.
