Even those who consider themselves very religious may not really be pleasing God.
We often think that God’s favor is based on what we do, but the issue is more about where we trust. What do you trust in? Your wisdom? The “experts” of our world? Your religious practices? Spiritual leaders? The emphasis in Colossians 2 is all about having our trust fully placed in Jesus Christ. Trusting Him to have paid for our sins on the cross. Trusting Him to present us faultless before God. Trusting Him to give us strength to live in a way that pleases Him because He loves, not trying to earn His love.
Come learn about these distinctions as we continue our study through the biblical book of Colossians.
