Foundations of Our Faith – Theology Proper

What do you believe about God?

Everyone has some form of "God Belief".  Your God Belief may be that there is no God - you may be an atheist.  Your God Belief may be that there are many gods, so you would be considered a polytheist.  Or, as Jews, Muslims, and Christians believe, your God Belief says there is one God.  Those are the big categories of God Beliefs, but let's get a little more specific:  If you believe in one God, how big is He in your mind?  Is He weak or all powerful?  Is He good or evil; kind or mean?  What do you believe?

This message is a two-part study on God.  It is the continuation of our "Foundations of Faith" series which begins here. In this message we will look at a few arguments for the existence of God, then focus in on what the God of the Bible is like.  We will survey His attributes to develop an accurate view of Him to answer those questions above, and more:  "How powerful is He?"  "How good is He? " "What are His limits?"  All of these are essential questions to answer, because, as A.W. Tozer said, "what comes to mind when you think about God is the most important thing about you." Why? Because the way you see and think about God shapes the way you see and think about everything else. *
